In my first week at Story Designs studio I was introduced to the space and run through a few general house keeping regulations of the studio itself and also the workspace we were in in the Bussey Building.
I was then given a lot more information from the company director Julinka about what exactly I would be up to during my time here. She talked me through a lot of the administration side of the role; like how to edit and run elements of the website and update the collection online.
I then had an in depth lesson in how the company uses photoshop to edit their designs onto fashion templates so that clients could see the sample they would be buying in a more realistic context. I was told that this would be something I would be having to do a lot with the company having such a vast collection and that this was something I would be we adversed in by the time I had finished with my time at Story. I found learning this new skill very useful and although I had done something slightly similar before at university, completing this task at my placement really solidified the skill for me and now I feel it is something I can and will do in the future with my own work.
