Story Designs Week 2

In my second week at story a new load of samples had come in from the ateliers in India. This allowed me to find out a bit more about how the studio works from a production point of view.

All designs are done in house in London either by Julinka or some of her other freelance designers Rachel and Louise. The designs are written up with specific instructions for the ateliers in India about how they want the sample to be made. These are either emailed over or sent physically as to scale drawings, each designer tends to have their own preference as to how they do this.

Once sent off the works take about 3/4 weeks to be made and they are then sent back to the studio in Peckham where they get added to the collection.

Once they arrived back in the studio, one of the jobs I was tasked with was to take photos of all the new samples and edit them so that they would fit the right size for the website, and then also put them onto a garment with the skills I had learnt in photoshop from the previous week.
