Coco Bloom Week 2

My second week at Coco Bloom, the other interns weren’t in this week so me and Lisa focused on some more administrative things the two of us. She ran me through her website, which was the same set up as Story Designs which was nice and easy for me to pic up on. I continued to work on scanning the samples that she had put to the side for me – there was a LOT.

This week felt a little bit slower than the previous one and didn’t quite feel like I was learning as much but I still remained optimistic about my time here.

On the Wednesday we went along to IKEA and picked up a desk so that I would have my own work space in the studio. I spent the day putting this together and continuing with the scans.

Lisa was going to be away the next week so before I left she gave me a big bag of vintage clothes and prints that also need scanning in that I could chip away whilst she was out of the studio

I met up with one of her graduate interns Rose to share the load of the massive amount of clothes we had to scan. It was really nice to make another textile contact and I got on very well with her straight away. We ended up having some very interesting conversations about uni and what she did after she graduated. She gave me some tips and tricks that she would have liked to have been told when she was in my position. So although this week hadn’t quite been as exciting as last I still ended up gaining some really valuable contacts and conversations. Every cloud…
